Most runway shows and collection reveals require attendees to have endless clout, a bajillion Instagram followers, or hold some stake in the buying or selling of the brand. As much as I pretend to be Rihanna, I am (sadly) aware that, unlike her, if I walked into NYFW without an invitation, I would likely be tased.

I was surprised and delighted when BCALLA - along with Hardeman, and Jimmy Paul - invited normies like myself to view their capsule / SS19 collections last night at Underpin LA in Los Angeles. Brad Callahan (BCAL...

You saw her on the news during her spat with Russell Crowe (pun intended). You read, in disbelief, her tweets showing support for President Cheeto during the election. Hell, some of you are showing her your bootyholes for free ass-bleaching soap. Whether you love her or hate her,  Azealia Banks is a force to be reckoned with. She is simultaneously one of the most frustrating, talented, and outspoken artists of our generation – whether you agree with her ideas or not, she is, at the very least, compelling.

Why is it important to help those who most often oppress us?

April 18, 2018

Ahh, April. In Chicago, wave two of seasonal depression has set in and we're all looking at each other with dead eyes thinking, "why the fuck do I still live here?" While the West Coast basks in Beychella, we're still wrapped up in bed under blankets and cookie wrappers with a packed bowl in one hand and our iPad (streaming a video of Beychella) in the other. Despite the excruciating wait for 50+ degree weather and the vitamin d bukkake we're all dying for, Chicagoans stay up, out, and lit until the sign rises - even when it's below freezing. As Chicago staple bars close and gentrifi...

If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years (or you’re a member of the U.S. Congress), you’ll be surprised to know that Facebook makes almost all of its money by selling our data to advertisers. Every time we share a meme, stop scrolling over that ad for erectile disfunction pills, or tag Cardi B in an appreciation post, that information is compiled and analyzed by Facebook, then sold to companies who push us targeted ads (so we, ya know, spend money on their products instead of paying off crippling student loan debt.) The tradeoff, of course, is that we-the-people have...

Last May, an old (tattoo) artist buddy of mine from college posted a photo of one of his drawings on Instagram. It was a picture of Bert from Sesame Street wearing a sweater with Garfield on the front, captioned with, "WHO CARES". I had wanted more tattoos for awhile (I had two at the time, both of which I can best describe as "meh"), so seeing these two beloved characters from my childhood with whom I used to laugh and clap and sing along gave me an idea. I excitedly opened a message to the artist and sai...

Editor's note: Throughout my adolescence, tiptoeing around racial slurs and dodging homophobic jabs became as typical as a morning bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios. My body-type, however, always slim and lean, was never the subject of much criticism. Well, an occasional, "boy, eat something!" was sometimes muttered, but our society's beauty standards still held me at a higher standard than someone who was, for example, overweight. (Big ladies run in my family, so I learned to respect all body shapes and sizes at a young age.) Once I made it to high s...
